| Publication regulations Established Jan. 1, 2022 1. Purpose 1.1. This regulation
is intended to establish general provisions regarding the publication of 'Asian
Qualitative Research Journal,' published by the Asian Qualitative Inquiry
Association.
2. Revision 2.1. All decisions
regarding the revision of this regulation are made by the editorial board, and
these decisions are effective upon approval by the operating committee.
3. Frequency and Timing of Publication 3.1. This academic
journal is published twice a year, with publication dates scheduled for June
30th and December 31st as a general rule. 3.2. If the content of
a specific topic is concentrated in one issue, publication for the next issue
may be postponed even if the final decision for publication has been made.
4. Nature of Publications 4.1. Publications in
this journal consist of research papers or theoretical discussions that align
with the objectives of the association. The following types of research may be
published, without specific restrictions on academic areas: - Papers introducing new qualitative
research methodologies or providing new perspectives on existing qualitative
research methodologies. - Exploratory papers on major issues in
the qualitative research process. - Papers comparing and analyzing various
qualitative research methodologies. - Papers applying qualitative research
methodologies in various academic fields. - Studies utilizing mixed research
methodologies based on qualitative research methods, among others.
5. Ethical Regulations at Publication 5.1. If a submitted
paper is an abridged or partial version of a thesis, and if the publication
date in the journal is after the thesis publication date (date of degree
conferral), the following citation must be provided at the time of publication.
In the event of a violation discovered later, the author of the paper is
responsible for withdrawing the paper and any legal consequences. 5.1.1. If the content
of the thesis has been used verbatim or nearly verbatim, the following citation
should be provided: - This paper is an excerpt and
compilation from the 20XX thesis of [Author's Name] for [Master's/Doctoral]
degree at [University's Name]. 5.1.2. If the research
data from the thesis have been used, and if the theoretical background,
conclusions, and discussions have been restructured, the following citation
should be provided: · This paper has been restructured using
data from the 20XX thesis of [Author's Name] for [Master's/Doctoral] degree at
[University's Name]. 5.2. If the
publication date in the journal is before the thesis publication date (date of
degree conferral), citation is not necessary. However, plagiarism issues
related to the thesis itself may arise, so it is important to verify the
research ethics of each university.
6. Editorial Board 6.1. Editorial board
for the journal is established to conduct the review, editing, and publishing
tasks of submitted papers. 6.2. The editorial
board consists of approximately 5 domestic and 5 international editors, in
addition to one editor-in-chief. Editors are appointed by the president and
editor-in-chief of the association, considering expertise in various research
fields among the members of the association. 6.3. The
editor-in-chief convenes the editorial board prior to the publication of the
journal to discuss the final publication papers. Depending on the publication
schedule and other circumstances, the editorial board meeting can be replaced
by an online editorial board meeting. 6.4. The term of
office for the editor-in-chief and editorial board members is two years, with
the possibility of reappointment. 6.5. The editorial
committee resolves the following matters. - Matters regarding the amendment and
establishment of the editorial publication regulations of this academic journal - Matters regarding the selection and
appointment of paper review committee members - Other matters necessary for the
editing and publication of the journal - Matters regarding the final decision
on the acceptance of submitted papers for publication
7. copyright transfer 7.1. The copyright
transfer agreement must be completed and submitted when submitting the final
revised version of an accepted paper. The copyright transfer agreement is
prepared as an image file and submitted via email, fax, or other means.
