Article 1 (Title) These regulations shall be referred to as the “Submission Regulations for the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal.”

Article 2 (Purpose) The purpose of these regulations is to define the procedures for submitting papers to the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal, an academic journal published by the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association (hereinafter the “Association”), and to regulate related matters.

Article 3 (Copyright and Consent Procedure) The copyright of papers and other works published in the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal shall be owned by the Association. The rights transferred to the Association include the right of reproduction, distribution, public transmission, inclusion in databases, and the right to create derivative works, in both print and digital forms. When submitting the final revised version of an accepted paper, the author must complete and submit a Copyright Transfer Agreement that itemizes the specific rights transferred as set out above; submission of the agreement constitutes the author's consent to the use of the work. Where an author wishes to use his or her own published work, the Association shall, as a rule, grant permission unless there are special circumstances. This Article shall prevail over any inconsistent description of copyright in other regulations of the Association.

Article 4 (Nature and Submission Restrictions of Papers) The Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal contains original research papers related to qualitative research in Asia.

4.1 Papers must not have been published in, or be under simultaneous review by, other academic journals.

4.2 Submission of two single-author papers in the same issue is not allowed. However, one single-author paper together with one co-authored paper may be submitted, and submission of two co-authored papers is also allowed.

4.3 If a submitted paper is found to be plagiarized, the author shall be prohibited from submitting papers to this journal for three (3) years.

Article 5 (Conflict of Interest) Upon submission, an author must report to the editors any conflict of interest that could affect the research or its review (e.g., financial, personal, or institutional relationships). An author must not recommend, or seek to influence the selection of, a specific reviewer.

Article 6 (Research Involving Humans / Gender Innovation) For research involving human subjects, the author should confirm that the appropriate ethics review or informed-consent procedures of the relevant institution or country (e.g., IRB approval or an equivalent ethics review) were followed, and state this in the manuscript where applicable. For research involving humans, animals, or cells, the author should consider sex and gender as analytical variables where relevant and report the sex/gender composition of subjects or samples.

Article 7 (Use of Generative AI) Where generative AI is used in conducting the research or preparing the manuscript, the author must disclose the tool, purpose, and extent of its use in a “Statement of AI Usage” section at the end of the manuscript. Generative AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author. The author bears full responsibility for all content, including AI-generated parts.

Article 8 (Submission Eligibility) Submission is, as a rule, limited to members of the Association. However, authors whose research is academically aligned with the aims of the Association may also be permitted to submit.

Article 9 (Publication Frequency and Dates) The journal is published twice a year. The publication dates are June 30 and December 31 each year.

Article 10 (Submission Deadlines) The submission deadlines are April 15 and October 15 each year. Where necessary, the submission deadline may be extended once only.

Article 11 (Manuscript Length) The manuscript length should be approximately 15–20 pages, including references.

Article 12 (Manuscript Submission) Manuscripts should be submitted via the journal's email (aqijjournal@gmail.com).

Article 13 (Manuscript Preparation) All manuscripts must be prepared according to the manuscript formatting guidelines (APA 7th Edition).

13.1 The paper title, abstract, keywords, and author information (at the time of final publication) must be written in English only. The English abstract must be 150–250 words, outlining the main contents of the paper, and attached to the first page. The author must specify 4–5 keywords at the end of the abstract.

13.2 The corresponding author must be listed on the first page with email contact information. Author information such as position and affiliation must be placed immediately after the references; research acknowledgements may also be stated there.

13.3 Figures should be of high quality and supplied in the text in a format such as JPEG or TIFF.

13.4 Tables should present new information rather than duplicate the text.

Article 14 (Book Review Manuscript) Book reviews introducing books on topics in qualitative research are, in principle, published as irregular papers after review by one person.

Additional Rules

1. These rules take effect on January 1, 2022.

2. These revised rules take effect on January 1, 2025.

제1조 (명칭) 이 규정은 「Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal」 논문투고 규정이라 한다.

제2조 (목적) 이 규정은 아시아질적탐구학회(Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association, 이하 “학회”)에서 간행하는 학술지 「Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal」에 게재할 논문의 투고 절차를 정하고 관련 업무를 규정함을 목적으로 한다.

제3조 (저작권 및 동의 절차) 학술지 「Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal」에 게재된 논문 등의 저작권은 학회가 소유한다. 학회에 양도되는 권리에는 인쇄 및 디지털 형태의 복제권, 배포권, 공중송신(전송)권, 데이터베이스 수록권 및 2차적저작물작성권이 포함된다. 저자는 게재가 확정된 논문의 최종본 제출 시 위와 같이 양도되는 권리의 항목을 명세한 저작권 이양 동의서를 작성·제출하여야 하며, 동의서 제출로써 저작물 이용에 동의한 것으로 본다. 다만, 게재된 논문의 필자가 본인의 논문을 사용할 경우 학회는 특별한 사정이 없는 한 이를 승인한다. 저작권에 관하여 다른 규정에 이와 상충되는 기술이 있는 경우 이 조를 우선하여 적용한다.

제4조 (논문의 성격 및 투고 제한) 학술지 「Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal」은 아시아 질적연구에 관련된 독창적 연구논문을 수록한다.

① 논문은 다른 학술지에 발표되지 않았거나 동시 심사 중이 아니어야 한다.

② 같은 호에는 단독 2편의 논문투고는 불가하다. 다만, 단독 1편과 공동연구 포함 1편의 투고는 가능하며, 공동연구 포함 논문 2편의 투고도 가능하다.

③ 투고 논문이 표절한 논문으로 판명될 경우, 향후 3년간 본 학술지에 논문을 투고할 수 없도록 한다.

제5조 (이해충돌) 저자는 투고 시 연구 또는 심사에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 이해충돌(재정·개인·기관적 관계 등)이 있을 경우 이를 편집위원에게 보고하여야 한다. 저자는 특정 심사위원을 추천하거나 그 선정에 영향을 미치려 해서는 안 된다.

제6조 (인간대상연구 및 성별특성 반영) 인간을 대상으로 하는 연구의 경우 저자는 소속 기관 또는 해당 국가의 적절한 윤리심의 또는 연구참여 동의 절차(예: IRB 승인 또는 이에 상응하는 윤리심의)를 거쳐야 하며, 해당 사항을 원고에 명시하여야 한다. 사람·동물·세포를 대상으로 하는 연구의 경우, 필요한 범위에서 성·젠더를 분석 변수로 고려하고 대상자 또는 표본의 성·젠더 구성을 기술하여야 한다.

제7조 (생성형 AI의 사용) 연구 수행 또는 원고 작성에 생성형 AI를 사용한 경우, 저자는 사용한 도구와 목적, 활용 범위를 원고 말미의 “Statement of AI Usage”란에 명시하여야 한다. 생성형 AI는 저자 또는 공동저자로 표시할 수 없으며, 저자는 AI가 생성한 부분을 포함하여 원고의 모든 내용에 대해 전적인 책임을 진다.

제8조 (투고 자격) 원고의 투고 자격은 학회 회원을 원칙으로 하되, 학문적으로 학회의 취지에 부합하고 연구 성과가 있는 경우 투고할 수 있다.

제9조 (발행 횟수 및 시기) 학술지 발행횟수는 연 2회로 하며, 발행시기는 매년 6월 30일과 12월 31일로 한다.

제10조 (투고 시한) 투고 마감일은 매년 4월 15일과 10월 15일로 한다. 필요한 경우 1회에 한하여 투고를 연장할 수 있다.

제11조 (원고 분량) 원고의 분량은 참고문헌을 포함하여 15–20쪽 내외를 원칙으로 한다.

제12조 (원고 제출) 투고 원고는 학술지 이메일(aqijjournal@gmail.com)로 제출한다.

제13조 (원고 작성 방식) 모든 원고는 학술지가 정한 원고 작성 방식(APA 6판 양식)에 따라 투고되어야 한다.

13.1 논문 제목, 초록, 키워드, 저자 정보(최종 출판 당시)는 반드시 영문으로만 작성한다. 영문초록은 논문의 주요 내용을 요약한 150–250 단어로 작성하고 논문 첫 장에 첨부한다. 저자는 초록 끝 부분에 4–5개의 핵심 단어를 명시한다.

13.2 교신저자는 이메일 연락처와 함께 첫 페이지에 기재한다. 직위·소속 등 저자 정보는 참고문헌 바로 뒤에 배치하며, 연구 사사 부분도 표기할 수 있다.

13.3 그림은 고품질이어야 하며 JPEG, TIFF 등의 파일 형식 중 하나로 본문에 제공된다.

13.4 표는 본문 내용을 복제하기보다 새로운 정보를 제시해야 한다.

제14조 (북리뷰 원고) 질적연구 분야의 주제를 다룬 단행본을 소개하는 북리뷰는 1인 심사를 거쳐 비정규 논문으로 게재하는 것을 원칙으로 한다.

부칙

1. 이 규칙은 2022년 1월 1일부터 시행한다.

2. 이 개정 규칙은 2025년 1월 1일부터 시행한다.
