Research Ethics Education

The Asian Qualitative Inquiry Association and the Asian Qualitative Inquiry Journal are committed to the responsible conduct of research and the highest standards of publication ethics. We encourage all authors, reviewers, and editorial board members to complete research ethics training through one of the recognized programs listed below and to keep their certification current.

  • Per Article 6 of the AQIJ Submission Guidelines, research involving human subjects must follow the appropriate ethics review procedures of the author's institution or country (e.g., IRB approval or an equivalent ethics review), and this must be stated in the manuscript.

  • Per Article 20 of the Research Ethics Regulations, all authors submit a research ethics pledge upon submission.

Authors who have completed institutional research ethics training (e.g., a CITI completion report) are encouraged to keep their certification current. Research involving human subjects must follow the ethics review procedures of the author's institution or country.
